Bakesale Betty's Fried Chicken Sandwich

If you want to try one of the most delicious fried chicken sandwiches you’ve ever had, you need to make haste to Bakesale Betty in Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood.  Oh, and make sure you have plenty of time, because you WILL have to wait in line.  Open for only a few hours a day a few days per week, Bakesale Betty essentially only has two items for sale: the fried chicken sandwich, and chocolate chip cookies.  They take an all natural chicken breast, breaded and fried, served with spicy coleslaw on a soft roll.  Once you have gotten your sandwich, you can enjoy it seated at one of their several unconventional ironing-board tables.  That is, if you can find a seat.  Bakesale Betty is a neighborhood favorite as well as a destination eatery, so be prepared to deal with a throng of vigorous, hungry patrons.

  2. As a person who believes that sandwiches are the greatest food on this planet, I'm glad to read about all these different sandwich joints. I've hear of a few of these before, but now I know I need to try these out.

  3. I am a true sandwich lover but I'll admit I've never really gone out of my way to find sandwich shops. I think Bakesale Bettys just might change all that. The picture you posted looks delicious and the description you gave is mouthwatering. I cant wait to try their fried chicken sandwich and I'm definitely going to try and eat it on one of their ironing-board tables.
